38 Week Baby Update

So, I just looked back at the last time I posted and realized it was from September at 28 weeks, that was a while ago!

Anyway, over the last couple months I had been having some pain in my side/back that would come and go and most time Tylenol would take care of it and sometimes I would just have to tough it out for a few hours until it would go away. I had mentioned it several times to my doctor so I was sent to do physical therapy. Well, that seemed to help although the pain returned in the last couples weeks much more intense then ever before. To make a long story short we ended up in the emergency room Thanksgiving night because I was in so much pain. After spending the night there and being X-rayed in the morning it was found I have gall stones. Although I was not thrilled to hear this, atleast we know now the source of the pain. It has been decided that I will have my gull bladder removed after the baby it born. Sounds like the surgery shouldn't be too big of a deal as it is usually done outpatient and all through 4 small incisions in the stomach. So, not exactly ideal but atleast it's nothing more serious and the baby is fine. Now, to the baby.....

Had a doctor's appt yesterday which put me at 38 weeks and everything is looking good and right on track. SO, now it's just a waiting game!

38 Weeks!

So, this is an "out of order" post but it's the only picture I have on my computer and I have finally given in to many requests for a belly picture. Enjoy, this might be the only one!

Baby Update

Sorry for the lack of updates........Here's the latest and greatest!
Had a doctor's appointment last Thursday, which put me at almost 28 weeks. Blood pressure is good, belly is measuring a little ahead which was the same as last time so hopefully we will be meeting baby sooner than later but we will see. Baby's heartbeat was 140 and the doc says everything looks great! Which is nice to hear because I'm kind of new at this! :)
Monday I drank the dreaded "orange drink" for the glocose test to check for gestational diabetes and was happy to hear that "everything looked just fine" with by blood work. Thank goodness because at this point in the game I can't give up iceream! :) I was also informed that I will now be going for appointments every 2 weeks which made me realize this baby will be here before we know it! I honestly can't complain at all because with the exception of a few bad back aches I have been feeling great!
Sure seems like fall has set in the past few days which maybe will motivate us to get going on the nursery. I have managed to put together the changing table and rocking chair myself(with minimal help from the hubby only b/c I didn't know where to put the cam screws!?) so that's a start. Now we just need to decide on a paint color and get the nursery painted and assemble the crib and dresser and we should be ready to move in a baby! :)

Ultrasound Update

Wednesday we had our 20 week ultrasound. The tech took many measurements of baby and said everything is right on track and looks great! She got my hopes up by saying she shows a due date of December 16 which is a few days earlier than initial date so that was kind of exciting! And I know everyone is dying to know if we found out, so here it is...........


It's in an envelope and waiting to be opened, date of opening yet to be determined....:)

Other than that things are going really well with us, both staying busy at work and home!

I have another doctor's appt on Monday to go over the ultrasounds results in more depth so stay tuned!

Update on Baby D

Yesterday I had a doctor's appointment. According to my doctor she said everything is looking great and is the way it should be. My blood pressure was great, few pounds on the scale was good, and the heartbeat was 154. 17 weeks down, 23 to go! My belly was measuring at "18" not sure what that means but she said looks good. 3 weeks until our ultrasound so we are looking forward to that! Summer sure is flying by, hope you are enjoying it!

Two will become Three!

I think most everyone knows by now but we are excited to announce we are going to have a BABY! Due date is December 20. (Hopefully before?!?!) 15 Weeks down, 25 to go!
I have been feeling really great with the exception of being tired but I can deal with that! I have had 2 doctor appointments so far and we have been able to hear the heartbeat both times which is amazing! Next doctor's appointment is July 14 so stay tuned for more updates!

It's a...........

GIRL! Kennedy Faith was born last night to my brother Michael and his wife Beth at 6:50 PM @ Holland Hospital. She weighed 7 lbs. and 7 ozs. She is absolutely beautiful! We got to see her at abour 9 PM for a little while before they took her away for a bath and checkup. Congrats you guys, you are going to be GREAT parents! Don't forgot what babysitter lives right around the corner! :)

Great food, friends and FUN!

This weekend we had the opportunity to get away for the weekend. We went up to Manistee with our small group to our leaders, the Hubers, cabin. Here's a picture of what it looks like:

Friday night we stopped to grab dinner at McDonald's on the way up. Then once we got there we got out the snacks and games!

Saturday we took a walk down to the lake and walked on the icebergs of Lake Michigan. So beautiful! We saw deer, bald eagles, and wood peckers out the cabin window a few times which was really neat!

Saturday night we had an awesome dinner and played more games and just relaxed. The guys also had a ping pong tournament going so that kept things interesting. Sunday morning the guys made us breakfast which was fabulous! They even took "custom" orders for omelettes!

We were all really sad to come home but had a really great time! We are so blessed to have made some really great new friends from Central and have really enjoyed being part of a small group. Can't wait for the next event!

Birthday Weekend!

Happy (late) Valentine's day!
I started out my birthday celebration by meeting my mother-in-law Barb at Spectator's for lunch Friday. It was nice to catch up with her and hear what they have been up to. She also spoiled me with a new purse and beautiful roses! Then Friday night my whole family got together for dinner at Crazy Horse. We were even lucky enough to have my girlfriend Amber wait on us! After dinner we stopped in to see Grandma Draisma at Resthaven and wish her happy valentine's day.

Saturday I got to sleep in and then hit breakfast at Windmill Restaurant with my mom and sister and then headed off to Muskegon for an afternoon of shopping. We also got pedicures in the mall which was my favorite part of the day! Saturday night Mike & Beth invited us over to their house for dinner with our cousins Ross & Sarah. After seeing the restaurants PACKED at 5 O'clock already I was all about skipping the waiting game! It was great food and conversation!

Sunday we went to church then to Daris' dad's house for lunch with his family. Sunday night we had small group at the Huber's. It was a busy weekend but was a lot of fun. Hope everyone else had a great "love" weekend!

Friday night, January 9, we watched our friends Ryan & Amy get married after dating for 6 years! It was hard to believe it was finally happening! It was a beautiful wedding and a lot of fun to get everyone together.
